A couple of layouts to share...Swirlydoos!!

Hi scrapping friends..

I have just finished a couple of layouts to share. I used Swirlydoos Sept. kit for one and the October kit for the other. I am blown away by both kits...they are full of Swirly goodness!!

The first one is from the Sept. kit "Mon Amour" I Glimmer Misted the background paper and covered the pic with some netting.
I used pop up glue dots for the birdcages o give it some dimension too.
The next one I did was for the October sketch challenge at Swirlydoos. It is a lo of my nephew picking strawberries. I thought maybe it looked a little girlish...but...he is still young enough that I can use pink..lol
Well I think I'm in the mood to do some Halloween lo's or some Christmas tags next..but then again..I can't seem to put my Swirly kits down!!!

Take care and till next time..happy scrappin!!

"The Look" **Using Swirlydoos Sept. Kit**

Hi everyone! This is going to be a quick post...so here it goes!

I've been using the September kit from Swirlydoos alot lately!

This is a picture of my daughter after she got her new hair do. She was styling it and I just captured this 'look' she had. She is growing up and it kinda scares me. I changed the color photo to an infrared tone using the Picnik program on Facebook...so now it seems she has lipstick on..but she doesn't. Still too young for that!

I made the flowers using Lisa Gregory's rocking Retro Flower tutorial. That is one of my favorite tutorials.

A few close ups...this is a pull out tag with the journaling about her hair cut on it..

Well I am off to work with this fabulous kit some more!!
Till next time, Happy Scrappin!!

Pure Sass **Swirlydoos "Mon Amour" Kit"

Hey there!

Before I forget, don't forget to scroll down to check out my blog giveaway!! It'll be going on until I get 100 followers..so I hope you'll help me!

Ok now..

I'm loving the new Swirlydoos Mon Amour Kit for September. It's so chic.

I started going thru some old lo's I had done years ago because I wanted to do some re-dos. I thought this pic of my daughter being sassy was perfect for this paper.
I did this lo for the Butterfly Challenge at Swirlydoos. Click on the link to join!

Here are some close ups. I used the ribbon technique from Gabrille Pollacco and painted the frame to try to match the red. My little picket fence is from my scrapping friend Maggi, thanks again Maggi!! The Tim Holtz tag is a pull out and has journaling about the pic on the back. My daughter used to take ballet lessons when she was about 3 years old. So me being the scrappin mom tried to take pics of her before practice. Well this is what I got. We eventually quit ballet because she wouldn't follow directions...all she wanted to do was the "Bend and Snap" as she just saw it on Legally Blond. Well so much for ballet.
Thanks again for stopping by....hope you have a wonderful day!!

Marie Antoinette~Using Swirlydoos September Kit "Mon Amour!"

I absolutely love Marie Antoinette. I have to say she is one of my favorite people in history. I don't care what people say, I think she was very misunderstood. At such a young age, she, along with her young husband, where put in charge of a country. I mean really?? I know it was the 'norm' back then, but when you think about it, how could you judge her? And I don't believe she said those famous words.."Let them eat cake!" I think that is just b.s. There actually is no proof of that other than rumor. Now on with the show..

I have done a lo of her in the past, but with Swirlydoos new kit, "Mon Amour" I just had to do another!! This kit is just packed with the new and beautiful My Minds Eye "Lost and Found" paper. I can't say enough about their kits. I just ADORE them! Every month just gets better and better!

I started with punching the edge and adding the black pearls that came with the kit. My paper actually got caught in the punch and therefore ripped. I was so mad..but alas, I just used it anyway. I cut out a dress form from my Summer in Paris Cricut Cartridge, and 'dressed it up'. Marie was all about clothes you know? ;)
The kit came with some beautiful red roses, so I took a couple and painted them with the Shimmer Pearlz that came with a previous kit. The pretty Prima Pearl flourish was also in the kit..told you it was filled with great stuff! I printed out the awesome butterflies that Lisa Gregory created. You can find them here at Swirlydoos.   They are beautiful!!
Here are just a few more pics. I used a Vintage Frame from Tim Holtz to put her birthday and death year. I also cut out the Eifel Tower from another paper from the kit and UTEE'd it. I'm really glad I ordered the extra paper cause this stuff just rocks.
Well thanks for stopping by! This weekend I will be doing a blog giveaway so keep your eyes peeled for it!! I will post it on Saturday. I hope you've been inspired to get creative and don't forget to click HERE to check out the new kit.

Till next time, Happy Scrappin!
