"Fairy Child"..using June kit from Swirlydoos!

I did another layout using the June kit from Swirlydoos. I really want to finish doing the layouts for the fairy/vampire pics I did of my daughter and her friend. Most of the stuff I used is from the Swirlydoos June kit called Antebellum Beauty. Click on the link above to see it..it's gorgeous!!

I laid burlap underneath the paper first and used Smooch to dot around the edges. I made the fairy embellie using Memory Glass, and the hinges are from Tim Holtz (of course!)
I found the Fairy quote online and it reads:

Come away oh human child,
To the waters and the wild..
With a Faery hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping
Than you can understand~

I love the Cameo/butterfly pin that came with the kit. It is gorgeous!

Well I think I'll go get some more done while I still have some free time. Our Summer School program is starting this week at work and I'll be so busy that I'm not sure if I'll be able to scrap for awhile...but I'm sure going to try!! So till next time..Happy Scrappin!!

Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire May Madness Mini Album

I did another project for the Graphic 45 Ren Faire Contest. I LOVED the pictures I took of Faith and Kolby playing dress up. Faith was of course a fairy...and Kolby was Victoria from Twilight. So I made this mini album to hold most of the pictures I did of them. For this post I'm not going to waste a bunch of time explaining what was done..etc. I'm just going to post the pictures. So enjoy!
Ok well that's all for now!! Have a great Memorial Weekend..and till next time..Happy Scrappin!

For Adie~

A dear friend of mine, Adie, is getting married to the man of her dreams in August. She asked me if I could do a layout for her using one of her engagement pictures. I LOVE to do stuff like this and can only hope I came up with something she'll love. (always scares me that I go overboard on flowers)

One of her colors is this beautiful blue and I had such a hard time trying to match it with the perfect paper. I still didn't get it exact, but it's pretty close. As soon as the new June kit from Swirlydoos came in..I knew it'd be the best bet for this layout.

I used UTEE on the paper butterflies to make them sturdy. Added pearls for edging, and found the sheet music for their wedding song online and used that as a background to add something special. I bunched up some netting too and added some bling on the bottom. I used a ribbon piece from Websters Life's Portrait collection that reads " believe in the beauty of your dreams"
Last but not least, I found a metal embellishment in my stash that was perfect for these two lovebirds!!
I just hope she likes it!!

Thanks for stopping by and till next time..Happy Scrappin!!

Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire May Madness!!

Graphic 45 is having a  Renaissance Faire May Madness contest on their site. You must use the Ren Faire pp for your project. This is one of my favorite lines from G45. It's so rich and warm in color..beautiful!

I started by cutting and distressing the edges of my first pp, Enlightened. I then inked it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. For the next layer, I cut a sheet of Florentine, distressed the edges just a bit and inked some more.

I used Tim Holtz "Hanging Sign" Die Cut to tie to the next piece of this beautiful paper. I cut out a part of the Renaissance Faire paper, used some more Vintage Photo ink, and used twine to tie it to the sign.

I used several layers of different ribbon and cut out branches from my Cricut. I made the flowers by myself and added them to the branches.

Made another flower out of burlap, twine and scraps of Awakening paper. Added some hinges to the photo. The photo is doubled. I used a 4x6 on the bottom and laid a 3x5 on top. Used pop up glue dots for dimension.
I took 3 Ren Faire tags and covered them with Crackle Accents to make them look 'old'. And cut out a bird with some more of the Awakening pp.

I really loved making this layout. Graphic 45 is in my top 3 papers. If you're interested in being a part of the contest or just looking for some wonderful vintage paper...click here.

I thank you for stopping by and hope you get inspired to create something wonderful today!!
Till next time...Happy Scrappin!

Pretty Prima!!!

I finally got my hands on some of the pretty Prima paper I've been wanting!! I have to say that Prima paper is in my top 3 of faves...along with Websters and G45 of course:)

I've been working on this layout for a couple of days. I wanted to make it for my son and his girlfriend..it's a picture of them when they went to Prom this last month. This is just a snapshot she took of them together before Prom started..I thought it was really cute!

I used lots of Prima on this..from paper, decorative stones to flowers to the floral strip on the bottom. I covered the pic with some netting from my dear scrapping friend Maggi and glued little baby roses to the ends.
Added a pull-out journaling tag...

Prima flowers:

I painted the wood flourish with Crackle Paint and glued a frame embellishment and butterfly on it. Underneath it is some Websters' Life's Portrait fabric ribbon..so pretty..and I used Stickles to make the flourish.
I love the Prima floral strip I found at Michaels. I added pearls on top of that for an extra something.

Glad that you stopped by and I hope you've been inspired, if even a little, to create something!!

Till next time, Happy Scrappin!!

Another layout using my Swirlydoos Kit

I am really loving the May kit from Swirlydoos~it's just so full of beautiful products. Now to get things straight..I don't design for them or work for them in anyway..(people have asked) I just love their kits. Now on with the show.

So..I took this picture of my daughter and used it for this layout. She is going thru the "I'm not pretty stage" and I wanted to show her how beautiful she really is by doing this for her scrapbook.
I used my Serenade Cricut Cartridge to cut out the tree branches, which I then inked with Willow and Rust Alcohol Inks by Ranger. I used a Prima butterfly that I had..and made another one out of cardstock and UTEE. I then backed the clear quote with beige inked cardstock. and added it by the butterfly. I inked and textured the Grungeboard Tim Holtz bracket and topped flowers around it.

Glad you stopped by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
Till next time..Happy Scrappin!!
