A bit of Prima and a little Happy Christmas!

Today I want to share a few projects that I did using some items from the Flying Unicorn Store.

First up is a LO I did for Mish's Stitch Challenge in the Flying Unicorn Forums. I used Prima Optimist Collection.

I used my Sew Easy tool to do the stitching. Love this tool!!! The background is stamped using a Kaisercraft script stamp and Ingvild Bolme White Chalk Ink.

I just had to do a bit of fun fussy cutting too! Petaloo and Prima flowers topped it off

Some Junkyard Findings are added in too. I detailed using a White Sharpie Pen.

When I saw new Inkido Happy Christmas had arrived in the store, I grabbed some right away! This collection is right up my alley. Vintage colors and theme..it's perfect!

I did use a bit of Kaisercraft St. Nicholas for my circles..which were cut out using my Cricut. The background masking is done using the Finnabair Bubbles Mask and a Mister Huey's Triangle mask. I used Studio 490 embossing paste.

The new Petaloo Flowers that are in the store are more than gorgeous! I love these new Floral Ephemera and Blooms.

Last but not least I made a Happy Christmas card using Santa's Sledge papers.

Cottage Cutz Ivy Made Easy die is perfect for cards and tags. I used some Coordinations Cardstock to cut out my ivy and my Tim Holtz Deer die cut.

I wanted to add some sparkle to my card to make it more festive so I used Stickles in Diamond and used a Q-tip to smear it all over my card, flowers and ivy.

Don't forget to check out "What's New" in the store and our new "Inspiring Your Art" page. It sure takes alot of the guess work out of matching products to paper collections!

Happy Creating!

Santa's List

Hey scrappers!

Today I want to share a couple of Christmas creations I made using the new Teresa Collins Santa's List collection which is now available at the Flying Unicorn Store. With Christmas right around the corner I thought I better get crackin on my cards and tags!

This collection is oodles of fun to work with! Love the page of tags and punch outs and the 6x6 paper pad is perfect for your cards and tags!

For this one I used my Cricut and cut out an oval odd shaped to use as my tag. I then cut out smaller ovals to layer. I used Kaisercraft Script Stamp to stamp the background with first and then started my layering. I also used Petaloo Mini Poinsettias and some of the punch out tags to finish it off. I then used Stickles in Xmas Red for a little sparkle. I wish I would of ordered some of the Enamel Dots from this line..could of used those too!

This one I did using most of the same products as before. Love the Mini Poinsettias for cards and tags. They are the perfect size! I did add some new Petaloo Berries on this card and some red Wire Beaded Trim.

One more to share! Pay no attention to the small white string that snuck it's way into my photo! I didn't notice it until after I had downloaded and edited and to be honest..too tired to go take another. ;)

Flying Unicorn now carries some GORGEOUS Venice Lace which I used to trim the edges of my circle.

Another great thing Alda has come up with at the store is an "Inspiring Your Art" Page. This gives you great suggestions and ideas for products that coordinate all together!! From paper, ink, chippies and flowers to so much more! The Creative Team is working hard on getting some awesome ideas together for you~ Check it out HERE!

I hope that you've got an early start on your Christmas cards and tags too!! I would love to see what you've done so please share with us in our GALLERY! Don't forget you can join us in our monthly CHALLENGES as well and win some awesome RAK's!

Be sure to check out all the new product coming into the STORE as well! Alda is busy loading up all kinds of goodies!!

November Kit Creations

Hey everyone!

The Flying Unicorn Gives Back promo is in full swing! Be sure to check it out HERE! We are raffling off a Cameo!!!

Today I'm sharing my creations using Flying Unicorn's "Heart's Twilight" November kit.

This has been one of my favorite kits and I do wish I had more time to work with it. But with Oct being the busiest month for me, it was hard to find the mojo..but here are some layouts I did using this lovely kit.

I love the Prima Delight papers in this kit! Between the paper add on and the main kit I had LOTS to work with! I only used a few items from my own stash as the kit has SO much to work with! There are some Calico Wood Butterflies in the Main kit that were fun. I used some of the Shimmerz in the Embellie Add on to mist a little bit on the paper and color my butterflies with. I also used it on the metal flowers along with some Texturz. A little technique I learned from Shona!

Marion Smith Mad Tea Party papers are included as well!!! I have been waiting to use this collection and was so happy that some of it was in the kit! The frame is Leaky Shed

The kit also has some yummy Studio 75 papers in it which I chose to do a more artsy LO with.

The OTP is a calendar block. The CT has come up with some REALLY fabulous ways to use this!! Check it out HERE!

I chose to mine very simple as I'm giving it my MIL and she is in a nursing home and I want it to be easy for her to use.

So don't forget to check out the Giving Back promotion we are doing and grab your kit while they last!!! Kit's are only $31.99 and they're packed with awesome goodies including the OTP!

Hello everyone!!! Welcome to the Flying Unicorn Blog Hop!! If you have come over from Marilia's Blog you are on the right track! If not go back to the beginning at the FLYING UNICORN BLOG and get started!!!

Every year in the month of November, Flying Unicorn sponsors "Flying Unicorn Gives Back." This year, we've chosen a nationally recognized charity, Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah.
For each project that is uploaded to our forum gallery, Flying Unicorn donates $1.00 to a maximum of $1,000 and. we've always reached our goal. With your help this year we will again.!

Flying Unicorn also donates 5% of all sales during the month of November to the charity. Finally, do not forget to mark your calendars for our Silent Auction November 8th - November 16th .

We have set up the Flying Unicorn page on the Best Friends site where monetary donations can be made as well to help us reach this years goal of $3000.00 in charitable donations.

Best Friends' mission of No More Homeless Pets tries to place dogs and cats who are considered "unadoptable" into good homes, and to reduce the number of unwanted pets through effective spay and neuter programs. Since its inception, the number of dogs and cats being destroyed in shelters has fallen to approximately 5 million a year. There has been much progress, but there is still much more to do. Best Friends made national headlines with their intensive efforts in rescuing so many animals in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina..

In honor of Best Friends, and the November Kit of the Month -Hear'ts Twilight -I would like to share with you the extra special project I made using the Kit of the month
My grandson got his first puppy when he was about 1. He is just so cute and cuddly! My grandson hardly put him down the first few days he got him and everywhere Bentley went, his puppy went too.

I really love the new kit! Full of beautiful papers, flowers, and embellies!! I chose to use some of the Prima Delight papers from the kit for this LO. The hanging lamp, chippie and Prima heart are from my stash.

Heart's Twilight is now available with an amazing and fun off the page creation- take a look:
