New July kit from Swirlydoos!!

Hello scrapping friends!

I have to say that I love this new kit from Swirlydoos!! It has the new BG Capella pp included in it among lots of other wonderful products. I mean SD kits are PACKED with goodies! If you've ever wondered if you should sign up...you should!!

For this layout, I double matted the photos first, distressed the edges of the base pp, and used a Martha Stewart  punch for the edging for the next layer. I stamped a larger piece of pp with a script stamp and added the bling, flowers, and black iron on flowers which I found at WalMart. The layout is based on the monthly sketch challenge at SD's.
A couple of the flowers are handmade using extra pp and my Cricut machine.
I added a copper metal photo corner to the larger picture..
The butterfly was something I had in my stash, which I spritzed with some Glimmer Mist. I also used a Prima petal border and a nameplate with my daughters name for an embellishment.
Well  I hope that you've been inspired to create this week! Have a blessed 4th of July weekend and until next time..Happy Scrappin!

Just a few Fairy Layouts to share

This last week or so, I've been trying to finish up some of my daughter's Fairy pictures. Now looking at these, I think I've rushed thru them because I'm not to thrilled with how they turned out. Just seem like they're missing something. Let me know what you think.

Well I'm off to try to work on some more layouts so till next time..Happy Scrappin!

Harmony~ New Layout using Onirie papers

Hi Scrapping friends!

Well I've been trying to get the mojo back since being under the weather and pulled out these beautiful Onirie papers that I ordered from Snobby Walrus to start another layout. These papers are SO rich and vibrant in color that the pictures I took do not do them justice! I love the large butterflies and floral designs on these. Simply amazing.

I also ordered some Prima vine branches with my Onirie papers because they looked so well together. Seemed like the just fit perfectly. (oh and on a side note...everytime I order from Snobby Walrus I've gotten GREAT service...shipping is fast too!)

Here is the layout using the Onirie papers:

I did some cut out work on the flowers from one paper and used it on my base pp.

I also added some musical rub ons and the Harmony sticker from my past Swirlydoos kits. I love texture and I try to incorporate some sort of texture in all my projects. For this one I took a piece of copper metal foil and used my Cuttlebug to emboss which I then cut out and glued down using the Harmony cardstock sticker. It was pretty tedious and not sure if I did the best cutting job..but I LOVE the way it looks.
I made some of the flowers and the rest is from my stash..mostly Prima. Added some pearls and the Prima Cherry Blossom Vine which just made it pop because the colors matched so well. I used Aged Mahogany Distress Ink around the edges of the paper and cut out the large butterflies from a different paper from Onirie, which I then used UTEE on to make them sturdy and shiny.
This layout was pretty simple, nothing too dramatic that I worked with but it was fun to do. Hope you get inspired to be creative this week!!

Till next time..Happy Scrappin!

~Simply Beautiful~

Hello fellow scrappers!

I ran out of mojo for awhile due to not feeling well..but I think I'm becoming more human these days. I started working on a layout using those Fairy and Vampire pictures I took of my daughter and her bf. I totally love how K looks in this photo...(she was the vampire). Her pale skin and red hair just compliment this beautiful Prima  paper I picked up at Snobby Walrus.
Working with the red colors in this was alot of fun! I cut out the edging of the pp and wove some ribbon thru. Inked edges, made the rose flower in the center and tried to find the perfect title. Not too much went into making this layout, but I think that's ok. Sometimes..too much..is just that. Too much. I wanted to keep this as simple as possible. Which was hard because I LOVE to work with flowers and embellies!! lol But I thought if I added anymore, it would be just way too overboard. And with this beautiful paper, you don't really have alot to do because it just speaks for itself. If you're interested in it, it's called Grape Twilight.

Here is one more pic to share...and until next time....Happy Scrappin!

Timeless Beauty..Prima paper

I am having so much fun scapping the photos I took of my daughter and her bestie! This is a layout of my daughters best friend, K. In this layout I wanted to bring out her beautiful red hair. Isn't it the most gorgeous thing you've ever seen!!

I used some beautiful Prima paper which I got from Snobby Walrus. It's from their Shabby Chic collection.
I also did some cutting from another piece of it to get some dimension. I am all about texture, balance and dimension in my layouts. I also took some copper metal foil and embossed with my Cuttlebug to make the 'stems'. The red flower is made by using a tutorial from one of my favorite designers Lisa Gregory.
So have a looksie~
I also tried to add my own quote using my handwriting but I'm not liking it too much..lol. It says "Beauty is Timeless.." K fits that description perfectly.
Well thanks for stopping by and for leaving your sweet comments. I really appreciate it more than you know!!

Have a great weekend and till next time..Happy Scrappin!
