Blinkie Business!!

Ok I've gone mad over blinkies! Thanks to Angela's blog and her designs I am trying to add blinkies to my favorite blogs, sites, stores etc. She is SO sweet that she even made me one! It's in the upright corner above my profile. Now if I could only figure out how to add the code so you can steal it, that'd be great! So bear with me as I learn the ins and outs of adding my blinkie so that it will link back to my site. Also, if you would like to share in the blinkie love, I would more than happy to post yours to my blog if you do the same for me. I will check out the blog first just to be sure it's appropriate. How great it is that we can share our love for scrapbooking and all things crafty with others around the world!

If you're interested on checking any of the cool blinkies Angela has made, please join us in the Blog Couture Group at Pages in Time,or visit her BLOG.

Frosty Winter

I love the look of the frost on the trees here. So last weekend, we went out so I could take some pics of it before it was gone. I think it is truly beautiful. I have several pictures I did and am deciding if I want to do them all in lo's or make a mini album. What do u think? Well I started with a lo of me and my dsd's. I love this photo and really wanted to try to capture that 'frost' feeling of winter, but without traditional colors..etc.

I chose to use "Bo Bunny's Snowy Serenade Die Cut Glitter" available here. I love using die cut pp in lo's. It makes them much more interesting.

A few close ups to see detail:
I used stickles to try to add a little giltter. I used it on the scrolls and lettering.

For the frosty lettering, I inked it first with Raisin Alcohol ink and then dipped a toothbrush in white paint and used the splattering effect, then topped with Icicle Stickles.

K and Company Life's Journey PP

Pay it Forward-My first blog award!!

Thanks Angela!

I received my first blog award from Angela Holt! It is an inspirational award and I was so humbled to receive it.

She is amazing and tho her blog is undergoing construction right now, please visit and check out all the cool things she is doing. Great stuff scrappers!!

So the award is a "Pay it Forward" award. I think this is a really great idea, as it is so nice to be able to bring inspiration as well as compliment those who inspire you.

When you get the award, copy this message into your blog post when you pass on the award to someone else:

"I am going to look for blogs that inspire me no matter how much bling, posts, links, etc they have on them. If I see something that actually invokes a change in they way I look at the world or how I think about papercrafts or if the person says or creates something that brings about novel ideas in me then they get the award.

I will post their first name and a link to their blog. I will leave them a message on their blog letting them know what I thought was so inspiring. Then, on my blog, I will write five or more sentences describing what kinds of things inspire me, what do I do with the inspiration and how can I pay it forward to others."

I have chosen to forward this award to Amarilys aka Amy, a DT member from Pages in Time. Her blog is full of inspirational sketches and designs!! Personally, and she doesn't know this, but I go to her blog when I need to get inspired to do sketches. I am new at it and it's gets very very frustrating when you don't know what you're doing..lol. But when I see her work, it amazes me and gives me a fresh new look when I need it. Also, when I look at her layouts, I can see what an incredible designer she is. All of the DT members are! There was one layout she did of her wedding and you could just feel her happiness...it was just beautiful!

So I thank Angela with all my heart for this award and now pass it on to Amy! Please visit her blog @

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!!

New Bo Bunny Gypsy pp!

For this LO I used the Gypsy line from Bo Bunny. I got this great pack from the Store at Pages in Time! These pp's are packed with color. If you know Bo Bunny, their pp is high quality too. I received this pack only 3 days after I ordered it so the shipping time at Pages is fast just so you know;)

For this LO I also used one of the Vintage Fairy Images I got from Pages too. I love these. They're very very pretty and nice quality...I'm all about quality when doing my lo's.

I also used an idea I saw on Irene Tan's blog and gallery. I like how she used the strips of paper with the brads on the end. But then again..anything she does is FAB!

I curled 2 of the edges of the pp and underneath it, layed another contrasting pp of the same line.

I used a Martha Stewart punch, inked some white daisies with Tim Holtz Rust and Espresso Inks, and added a Hummingbird that I found. The Traditions embellie, I looped with some twine I had.

Another Challenge from Pages in Time

Well no sooner had I finished Maggie's challenge, that I was off to do another. Karen, our wonderful fearless leader at Pages in Time, gave the DT members another challenge to do. This one was very cool as it had to do with us expressing our favorite Christmas memory and journaling about using a beautiful vintage photo she found..which I clipped the pin onto. I'm not much for journaling, in fact, I'm pretty bad at it, so this was a challenge for me. I'm so glad she picked this topic though. It really let me express my fondest Christmas memory. This layout is simply called "The Pin"
Thanks for taking a peek. Got any Christmas memories you love? Share them with me!!

The journaling reads:

This pin has a great story behind it.
When I was a little girl,
my Mommom would wear this pin
on the lapel of her coat every Christmas Season.
She would sit me on her lap, so I could stare at it's beauty.
I thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.
After she passed away, I thought life would never be the same.
She was my other half and she was gone.
As Christmas approached, I still was deeply saddened.
I didn't think Christmas would be much of a happy holiday.
Two days before Christmas Eve, I received a package from my father.
It had gifts for the kids and me inside .
As my daughter and I unpacked,
there was a small gold box that read "Open Now" on it.
As I opened it up, I recognized it instantly!
It was my Mommom's pin.
My Dad knew how I loved that pin
and wanted me to know that she was still with me always.
Needless to say, it brightened my day and my Christmas.
Knowing that I could have her near me every holiday from then on out.

Products used are:

Graphic 45 Christmas Past pp
Christmas Red Stickles
Vintage photo distress ink
Black Soot distress ink
Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses pp and alpha stickers
Red Christmas ribbon from your local Walmart

Special Layout for Christmas

One of the DT members, Maggie, over at Pages in Time put up a Christmas layout challenge. The challenge was to make a layout with a special Christmas memory. My memory is the Christmas Carolers that my Grandmother made when I was only 7 (yeah..that was in 1974) They were originally 6 of them. I remember her making these and her letting me help a little. By the time she passed there were only 2 left. I was the lucky one that she passed them on to. They are so special to me and I will cherish them always...as well as the memories of them being at her house every Christmas.

I used Bo Bunny Believe pp, and cut out a Reindeer from the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses collection. Also layered some of the BG pp with it. Made some swirls with  Christmas red Stickles, and distressed the edges. Cut out the tag using my Cricut and used Fired Brick and Pine Needles Tim Holtz inks. The journaling is on the pull out tag. Prima flowers.

New Graphic 45 Layout

Well I've done so many Christmas tags and cards that I decided to break away and work on a layout.

For this layout I used all Graphic 45 papers. These have to be my favorite pp's ever!! The beautiful pictures are very vibrant, the quality is outstanding and they all can intertwine with each other. If you are looking for these pp's check out the Pages in Time Store. The flowers are Prima. I used alot of Tim Holtz distress inks..another one of my favorites, to distress edges and color the pearls. These items can also be found at the PIT store.

And don't forget about the Huge Christmas Giveaway at Pages in Time!
