I absolutely love Marie Antoinette. I have to say she is one of my favorite people in history. I don't care what people say, I think she was very misunderstood. At such a young age, she, along with her young husband, where put in charge of a country. I mean really?? I know it was the 'norm' back then, but when you think about it, how could you judge her? And I don't believe she said those famous words.."Let them eat cake!" I think that is just b.s. There actually is no proof of that other than rumor. Now on with the show..
I have done a lo of her in the past, but with Swirlydoos new kit, "Mon Amour" I just had to do another!! This kit is just packed with the new and beautiful My Minds Eye "Lost and Found" paper. I can't say enough about their kits. I just ADORE them! Every month just gets better and better!
I started with punching the edge and adding the black pearls that came with the kit. My paper actually got caught in the punch and therefore ripped. I was so mad..but alas, I just used it anyway. I cut out a dress form from my Summer in Paris Cricut Cartridge, and 'dressed it up'. Marie was all about clothes you know? ;)
The kit came with some beautiful red roses, so I took a couple and painted them with the Shimmer Pearlz that came with a previous kit. The pretty Prima Pearl flourish was also in the kit..told you it was filled with great stuff! I printed out the awesome butterflies that Lisa Gregory created. You can find them here at Swirlydoos. They are beautiful!!
Here are just a few more pics. I used a Vintage Frame from Tim Holtz to put her birthday and death year. I also cut out the Eifel Tower from another paper from the kit and UTEE'd it. I'm really glad I ordered the extra paper cause this stuff just rocks.
Well thanks for stopping by! This weekend I will be doing a blog giveaway so keep your eyes peeled for it!! I will post it on Saturday. I hope you've been inspired to get creative and don't forget to click HERE to check out the new kit.
Till next time, Happy Scrappin!
Hello Denise~ this layout is so beautiful. I really like the Webster's Pages below this one too. Your use of pearls, lace, your placement, the colors. As usual...can't say enough about your work.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by again. My blog makeover is going to be simple but remove some of the messes I made. I sure do wish I did not have to resort to paying someone to fix it but I did not know anyone that could help me fix it for free. I tried to read from blogger's help section but just did not get it. So...my hubby & all his kindness gave me this little gift. You are lucky to be so talented. Your blog is just so lovely!!!
It has style & class, just like you.
Okay sweetie- be back again soon.
Take care!
Hugs,
Sonia
