Hey everyone!
Just sharing a layout I did for the American Idol Challenge at Flying Unicorn! For this week's challenge, we had to chose a song title from either the Rolling Stones or The Who. I chose the Stones of course! As I was browsing thru the list of songs..I saw the song "Heaven". I knew I wanted to use it and a picture of a sweet boy, Lennon and his mom. Lennon went to Heaven last September after a tough fight with cancer. No child should ever have to suffer such a dreaded disease..but he never lost his smile. And though I never met him personally, he really had an impact on me and my family and how we look at tough times. We prayed for him every day and never went a day without talking about him and his love for life.
I used Bo Bunny Country Garden Collection for this layout. I apologize for the dimness of the pictures..it's gloomy outside today!
I started by blending some Stormy Sky and Crushed Olive Distress inks around the distressed edges. Masked the fence using the same mix of inks and painted some Prima flowers with some Glimmer Glazes. The Glazes, Inks, Flying Unicorn flowers and Shabby Chic Bike are all from the Flying Unicorn Store.
Hope you join us for some fun Challenges at the forum!! We've got some fun ones coming up in April! We'd love to have you drop by, share your creations and make some new friends!!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you find some time to get creative!

Mojo Monday Sketch Layout
Hey scrappers!
Just sharing a layout I did for the Mojo Monday sketch at Flying Unicorn. CT Member Tammy did a great job designing the sketch for this week! Take a look:
For my take on it, I used new ScrapCake My Private Happiness collection from the Flying Unicorn Store. I LOVE the bright yellows of this line..really have turned me around when it comes to bright colors. If you know me, you'd know I rarely work with anything bright but I can't seem to put this paper down!
Here is my take on the sketch.
I distressed the edges and added some Mustard Seed Distress ink..did a little fussy cutting and stamping as well. For the Dusty Attic scroll, I painted it first with Flirty Glimmer Glaze, dabbed some Gesso on it and cut it in half. I then laid one on top of another using pop dots on the top to give some dimension to the layout.
I used mostly Prima flowers, but there are Manor House and Flying Unicorn flowers as well.
The Prima bird cage is also from the store..as well as the DA, most of the flowers, inks and Glimmer Glaze. I love that Flying Unicorn is one stop shopping!!
I hope you get to try out this weeks sketch! It's really inspiring! Keep your eyes open every Monday morning for Flying Unicorns new Mojo Monday Sketch to be posted!!
Thanks for stopping by!! Happy Scrappin!

New ScrapCake Projects!
Hey scrapping friends!
Today I want to share with you a couple layouts I did using the new ScrapCake collections from Flying Unicorn! I adore the collections that The ScrapCake comes up with! The colorings and designs are over the top gorgeous and the quality is amazing!! Flying Unicorn is one of the very few stores in the USA that carry The ScrapCake collections!
For this first LO I'm sharing, I used "My Private Happiness" collection. I used lots of Manor House flowers with some Flying Unicorn and Prima as well.
I started by fussy cutting the circles out of the 7x12 Creative Dreams sheet and then stitched around the 12x12. I used a doily and some Mustard Seed Distress Ink for the masking. I painted the Imaginarium flourish with Distress Stain and Shabby Shutters Crackle Paint. I then added a dangling jewel to the center of the chippie scroll.
I added the title into the circles of the cut out
For the next layout I used the new "One Moment in Time" Collection. I love the soft muted color palette of this collection..you can go either boy/girl with this line..which I love!! I did lots of distressing and masking using Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens and Distress inks.
I used my Dynamo Label Maker for the title and circled some twine around it.
Not only does Alda have new ScrapCake, but she has loaded up some new Dusty Attic as well! I painted the cherry blossom chippies with Picket Fence Crackle Paint and drew a little detail with my marker on the leaves. I then used some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink around the edges of the chippie and covered with Rock Candy. I also used some Aloha Green Glimmer Glaze on some of the flowers.
Don't forget to fly on over to the FORUM for some fantastic Challenges this month! We are focusing on fashion fun and its been a blast!! Would love to have you join us!!
Thanks for stopping by!! I so appreciate you! Hope you get inspired to create something! Till next time, Happy Scrappin!

Tammy searched around and was very disappointed to find no other hats that would do for this challenge. So she came up with one of her own. The file for this one will also be found in the file section of the site to print out. Only extra supply you will need will be a x-acto knife and a cutting mat. Here is some inspiration for this as well.

Challenge Layouts @ Flying Unicon
Hey everyone!
Just sharing a couple layouts I did for some inspiration for the challenges at Flying Unicorn!
This first one I did for the challenge I'm hosting "It's All Black & White". You must use a b&w photo is the only requirement. Easy right?!
I used a mix of Pion Papers available at the STORE. I stitched around the page that I punched and inked the edges with Stormy Sky Distress Ink mixed with a little Faded Jeans ink.
I used Prima and Manor House flowers and some chipboard embellies from Flying Unicorns March kit. The blue leaves and berries are from Websters. Rubons are from February's Flying Unicorn Kit. The Prima metal birdhouse is also from the STORE. What's great about Flying Unicorn is she specializes in hard to get papers like Pion, Riddersholm and ScrapCake just to name a few. It's nice to know someone in the U.S. carries these lines!
This next layout was inspired by Tammy's Lovely Layers Challenge. Her challenge is of course all about layers! Super fun!
I used Websters Ladies and Gents mostly for this layout. Did some fussy cutting and masking too.
I find it easy to work with Websters because they are such whimsical papers! Used mostly Manor House and flowers from the STORE also. Alda just got a new shipment in a little while ago of these beautiful blooms and they're flying out the door! I know I will order more!!
Here are some close ups:
Now, not only are we hosting our regular monthly challenges, but Flying Unicorn is hosting some very special weekly and monthly challenges too! This month we are all about fashion! From our last week's blog hop to our Puttin on the Ritz kit, we are inspired to create create create!! We will be giving away some fabulous RAK's at the "Haute Couture at the Unicorn Ritz" while we make shoes, hats, purses, paper dolls, and more!! Check out my shoe I made for my weekly challenge this week!
They are super easy to make! I got the template and instructions from Terri @ Artful Affirmations. She has a super easy to follow video too!
Well I hop you fly on over to the Challenge Section of the forum and join us!! We'd love to have you!

March Kit Projects
Hey scrapping friends!
I want to share with you the creations I did using the new March kit from Flying Unicorn, "Puttin on the Ritz". This kit was packed with all kinds of goodies to make beautiful glam projects! Dress forms and flowers galore!
This is the first LO I did.
I stamped the dress form with a script stamp and made the vine to 'wrap' around it a bit. I inked some burlap which I layed underneath the dress form. Painted some DA border and then cut it into thirds to frame the photo. The vines and butterflies are courtesy of Lisa Gregory.
What I love about this kit is it is so versatile. You can make softer layouts too!
I stitched around the edges and painted the chippie dress form with Glam and added some paint. I really was in a painting mood with this LO! I painted the edges of the flowers, the DA border pieces and the burlap. I love the extra embellies like the bird bath and bird that came with the kit. I decided to leave the large mistable flower that is included plain.
This next one is my lift of Ingrid G's "Precious Moments" LO. I LOVE her style and wanted to try it. Not sure if I got it right..but here it is..
I misted the paper with Chalkboard Mist and then just layered the Enchanted pieces using the dress form rubons and all the flowers. I made some of the black felt flowers using the fabric that is included in the kit.
One more layout.
I made the cameo myself and used most of the products that were included with the kit. I stitched around the papers. Masking a fence using Crushed Olive Distress Ink and did the same color ink on the bird bath and added a little chipboard bird. Misted some of the Color Me Crazy flowers with mist and made some of them using the cardstock with the kit.
The Off the Page Project this month was a Kaisercraft Dress Form and it is AMAZING!! The creations that the CT have done with it will blow you away! For mine, I did a Marie Antoinette dress..or I tried..using papers and fabric from the kit. I did it all free hand as I couldn't find a template, so some of it turned out a tad crooked. I want to make another one and just go over the top with it!
Come on over to the FORUM and GALLERY to check out all the fun challenges and inspiration that Flying Unicorn has!
Thanks for stopping by..hope you get creative soon!! Happy Scrappin!
