January Kit Creations

Hi everyone!

Happy New Year!

Today I'm sharing some creations I did using the new January Kit from Flying Unicorn. I love the new format Alda has put together! The changes really brings out the creative artsy side while still allowing to keep your own scrapbooking style. Also, what is great is that Flying Unicorn does not require any type of membership to purchase kits! It is first come first serve so you are not tied in to a monthly purchase contract.

I love the Prima Art Journal pages in the main kit. They're nice and sturdy and great for distressing and adding mediums to it. This is the first LO I did using these papers.

I used my Lucky 8 punch "Fancy Scroll" on the top layer, misted the doily with the Lindy's Coral Mist that is from the Main Kit and the Lindy's Fern Mist from the Mixed Art Kit (sold out). Love how each kit compliments the each other no matter which one you purchase.

I love the embellies with the Mixed Passion kit! (sold out) The cute little Prima birds and chipboard words are a part of it.

This next LO I did is a picture of me and my Uncle Junie when I was little. Junie had Down Syndrome and was the sweetest person I knew. He loved to collect TV Guides and play on his typewriter. I used a Scrap FX Chippie from my stash with this lo. To get the look on the flowers and heart I covered them with the 13 Arts Gesso from the Mixed Art Kit and then spritzed with the Lindy's mists. I love this Gesso and went a little crazy with it as you will see!

Love the Leaky Shed Frames that are in the Main Kit and I used one here which I covered in Stampendous Embossing Powder.

I did do one layout using some papers from the Small Art, Big Passion Kit.(sold out). This kit will come with papers and items to help you make cards, tags, or mix with the main kit.

Not much has changed with the main kit. It still comes with the fabulous Off the Page Project every month. This month it is a Prima Finnabair Art Journal..awesome!

I misted in a few areas first and then used my Kroma Crackle in a few areas. I then hot glued all my embellies on first, then used the 13 Arts Gesso and covered everything with it. I dried with a heat tool and then used the Lindy's Maidenhair Fern Mist, Dylusions Turquoise, and Lemon Zest

The Mixed Art kit will be available monthly as well and it comes with a canvas and other tools, mists and mediums to help you get creative! This is what I did this month with my canvas.

I did the same technique with the background using mists, gesso and Kromo Crackle. The hearts are from my stash and the frame is Leaky Shed from the Main Kit.

There are a few main kits left so I hope you get a chance to get one! They really are AMAZING!!!!

Have a blessed new year everyone!

Although I don't leave as many comments as I should, (and I should) it doesn't mean I don't come and drool over your work each and every time you post. I do. And I love it!!
