Hi Uni's!
It's time for another Playdate Thursday! With Mothers Day quickly approaching, I thought I would resurrect a fun card that you can make! I did this card back in 2011 or 2012 and my mom adored it! It's simple and easy and you can go crazy with the flowers!
Here is a quick tutorial for you to follow:
Supplies needed:
12 x12 Paper (I used Scrap Cake papers in the above photo) or you can use Cardstock
2 1/2 by 3 1/2 cardstock
2 inch wide strip of matching paper/cardstock (for bottom edge of pot)
Flowers (I used Manor House)
adhesive
Ribbon
Scoring tool
Border punch (for strip)
Steps:
Print out template below. Print out in the 8x10 size and it will be the size shown above in my picture. The template is courtesy of Itzuvit.blogspot.com
Cut out and trace template onto card-stock/patterned paper of your choice.
Score at lines shown on template
Cut the edge off at scoring line (top of pot) You can also bend it backwards, just be sure to glue it down.
Now glue or tape down sides of pot as shown. Leave top open as that is where the insert will go.
Now remember the long strip?? Use a border punch on it to adhere to the bottom edge of pot.
Glue back your top edge onto the flower card and make an insert card if you don't have one yet. Your insert should be approx. 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. You may have to alter sizes depending on the size of the template you printed out. Loop a small piece of ribbon onto the back of the insert card.
Now decorate as you wish. You will see on the first photos I used lots of flowers and outlined the insert with some patterned paper.
**TIP-when adding flowers on your insert be sure not to add so much that it won't fit into the flower pot. Make sure you leave yourself plenty of room in that aspect**
Hope you enjoyed this week's PDT!
