It's HERE!

Flying Unicorn's September Kit of the Month :
The end of summer is not a farewell, but an embrace of memories that will live on. That hot sun as you played in the water, and those steamy nights where you may have sipped wine in the yard, enjoying the smell of the bbq as you entertained friends and family . Lazy days by the pool and family vacation time. Sleeping in, as the yellow sun played in the skies of blue to late nights where only the shinning stars above were the light source. From the boldest blues and reds to the muted greens and purples it was 50 Shades of Summer.
Flying Unicorn proudly presents September's Kit of the Month with an ensemble from Melissa Francis Classic Elegance Collection,True Romance from Kaisercraft and 13@rts Faces of Spring.

Not only are we unique in the fact that scrapbooking should be a passion and not an obligation that we have no sign ups but it is first come first serve - Our kits have an Off the Page Project and this month is no different we have included the Tim Holtz Assemblage Clock for your creative pleasure.

Flying Unicorn Welcomes Our September Guest Designer!

Hello scrapping friends!

Flying Unicorn is so excited to announce our September Guest Designer, Heather Jacob!

Heather is such and amazing and inspirational designer! Just browsing through her blog or galleries gets me inspired to create and we were all so estatic when she agreed to join us for September! Heather has been widely published and designs for some great companies and challenge sites such as  CSI, Megs Garden, 2 Crafty Chipboard, The Color Room, Scrap 365 Magazine and Green Tara just to name a few. She also has been a designer for Imaginarium, OUAS and Scrap For Help as well as a Guest Designer for Maya Designs, 13 Arts,Inkido and more. You can see her full resume HERE.
Here is a little bit about Heather:

Hi there, my name is HEATHER JACOB.

Firstly I am totally honored, delighted and thrilled to be invited to join the team as a guest designer here at Flying Unicorn.. thanks so much Denise for asking me .
I live in Australia where I am blissfully married to my wonderful, supportive “soul mate” Baden. Our treasured family feature throughout  my work.

To me this craft is the perfect combination of art, photography, beautiful paper, and glorious words with complete freedom to express myself .
I can incorporate all the arts and crafts I love in one hobby.
My books are a reflection of my life, my history, my family and friends.
Also who I was yesterday and who I am today.
I am inspired by colour and texture. I especially love to choose some elements, cast a spell and see what happens, to create a dream and follow it through. Subtle shadows, light and color are all ingredients for casting the spell, connecting with the beauty that surrounds me.
For me it is all-consuming, inspiring and a natural expression of my inner self, which I love to weave into my works.
First and foremost I always choose the PHOTO, then the colours and papers are chosen depending on the energy, the emotion and the story behind the photo.. ..

I love to include stitching, chipboard, journaling, muslin, fabrics, metal elements, inking, masking and texture paste,  playing and getting messy !!
I see my style as “CLASSIC” with attention to detail…I tend to lean toward monochromatic themes with a little shabby chic/grunge thrown in..
I am lucky enough to be on a few design teams and my work has been widely published

Warm hugz from Heather x
