I am big follower of Sally Lynn MacDonald. I love her techniques she shares! The other day on her blog, she was talking about being inspired...finding your muse...friends losing loved ones.. and from what I got from it...using all of this to be creative...she called it Creative Therapy. Well..that hits home with me since I'm so into Recreational Therapy..whether it be thru arts and crafts, music, or just fun games. So last night, I thought ok..break out from the norm Denise and do something you've never done. I started brainstorming, going through my old stuff and found an old wooden frame. (Ah..another idea I saw from her on the Prima blog) So I took out the frame and stared at it for awhile. I thought about the people she talked about losing loved ones and how it's hard to have faith through times like that. So I brainstormed a bit more..thinking once my new scraproom is done, I'll need stuff to hang on the wall...so here's what I made.. A Shabby Chic wallhanging.
I painted it with Tim Holtz Picket Fence Crackle Paint, let dry and sprayed it with SWAK Tattered Angels Mist. The rest is just thrown together really...LOL! I embossed a piece of white pp, and sprayed that too with SWAK and used the technique Alda shared with us at The Technique Tuesday Group at PIT to make the faith wording. Prima bling and flowers and I did make the flower on the bottom left from the Handmade Flower Tutorial found at PIT.
I hope when you feel the need to just step out of your comfort zone and be creative, you'll do just that!!
Watch for a blog giveaway soon!! Till next time...Happy Scrappin!!

ReplyDeletethis is beautiful Denise! I love that scripture verse you chose. I am one of those scrappers that was inspired by the lose of a loved one. My mom passed away July 30/08, very suddenly, and it was only after that, with my SIL suggestion to make a memory book for my dad did I start scrapbooking! It has saved my sanity! Bless you!
